3 Principles for Sales Success: Respect, Gratitude, and Counter-intuitives

[Re-published from my company blog]

I’ve been a Marketing Cloud Account Executive in the General Commercial, General Business East Group since joining Salesforce in 2015. Previously, I worked in smaller, start-up environments and joining Salesforce was my first time working for a company with more than 250 employees. Although I’d been successful in the past, I couldn’t help but ask: Can I achieve similar success at a behemoth like Salesforce? How will I exist in this environment?

My initial weeks at Salesforce were overwhelming. I quickly learned that there’s more here than I can control or affect in the way that I was used to. So, I reflected on the core principles that contributed to my past success to see if they would help me. The principles I came up with aren’t tips on how to prospect, run a deal-cycle, or manage a close plan — they describe tactics I employ on a regular basis to cultivate a positive mindset, enhance my emotional wellbeing, and ensure that I do my best work. Album Release Show Feb-6 @ The Triad

Me and the crew performed songs from my recently released debut album, ‘The Reset’ for an un-official ‘Album Release’ party.

This is a great venue on the UWS named Stage72 @ The Triad. It’s a cabaret style theater…intimate setting, sweet sound, and great staff. Here’s some more information about the show:

This was put on by a terrific group of musicians (most performed on the record) and was an awesome show.

New Release: The Reset

New Release (October 14, 2014): The Reset. After one year of song-writing, studio recording & mixing I am very happy share my new full-length album titled The Reset. Download it on iTunes HERE.

It’s a collection of personal and revealing tunes inspired by years of discovery & personal growth and mistakes. The Reset is literal…a set of songs written at a self-identified moment in my life at which I reorganized the gathered information, interrupted my own well-worn patterns, and forced a journey of revitalized spirit & renewed sentiment. This was more than a simple page turn, a new chapter, a new coat of paint or some such incremental move. I put in a new processor, a new set of rules, and an entirely reconstructed engine. The Reset is an announcement, a declaration, a memorialization, a purging of junk and a new beginning.

The Reset was produced through a wonderful collaboration among a group of musicians for whom I’m extremely grateful to have worked. Production began with Josh Margolis (drummer, guitar player, owner of Gowanus Music School in Brooklyn) and Danny Lapidus (engineer/producer & musician, owner of POD Noise studio in NYC). Three bass players (James Joughlin, Lee Nadel, David Pollak), two keyboard/organ players (Rob Arthur & John Deley), and a bad-ass harmonica player (Teddy Goldstein) all contributed performances.

Upcoming Release (October 14, 2014): The Reset

On October 14, 2014 The Reset will be available on all digital channels for download and streaming (iTunes, Pandora, etc.). After one incredible year of song-writing, studio recording & mixing I am looking forward to sharing my new full-length album.
